The Alvin and the Chipmunks dance trend, explained
The Alvin and the Chipmunks dance trend is the TikTok trio dance set to a sped-up edit of You Spin Me Round (Like a Record), and it is not an official dance from the cartoon, the movies or their owners. The name comes from the squeaky, high-pitched voice. Chipmunks Dance Trend makes the real-people version from 1 to 3 photos and draws no characters. Make yours.
The same trend, another name
If you searched for the Alvin and the Chipmunks dance, you are looking for the same video as the Chipmunks dance trend. It took off in late October 2026, and in the United States many people simply call it by the cartoon's name. A few other names point at the same clip: the Chipmunks dance, the 3 person dance and the Spin Me Round dance.
What you see in the videos is always the same routine: three people in a row who sway, snap their arms, turn and spin, swap places and take turns at the front, and then the one in the middle runs up to the camera laughing. The audio is the 1984 Dead or Alive single sped up until the singer sounds like a chipmunk. The song page explains where the sound comes from.
What it is not
- It is not an official release. The cartoon's owners did not make this dance, and this site has no connection to them.
- It does not need the characters. Costume versions with red, blue and green outfits and round ears exist, and one costume clip had about 9.5 million views on TikTok as of early November 2026. This site does not make that version.
- It is not a cartoon video. No chipmunk is drawn, no ears are added and no character outfit is used. You appear as yourself.
- It is not a TikTok feature. There is no official filter for it.
Chipmunks Dance Trend is independent and not affiliated with Alvin and the Chipmunks, Bagdasarian Productions, Dead or Alive, TikTok or ByteDance. Those names are used only to describe a public trend.
Making it here
The tool works from 6 real viral versions of the trio dance. You add 1 to 3 photos: photo 1 is you, in the middle, and photos 2 and 3 are optional friends for the left and right. An empty spot is danced by an AI stand-in. Then you pick a dance, such as Sunny Park, a bright daytime stone path with green lawns, or Night Street, the late-night version in hoodies.
The result is an 11 to 15 second MP4 with the trend sound in it and no watermark. The place, the camera and the timing stay as in the viral clip. Only the dancers change, and they wear the clothes from your photos. Likeness is not guaranteed: when the dancers face away, a face can drift for a moment.
Only adults aged 18 or over who agreed to appear can be in a photo, and celebrities are not allowed. See pricing before you start: there is no free tier. The longer story of the moves is on the trend page.
